Move U Tips on moving house.
Arrange for pets to be looked after
Cats and dogs do get under our feet when we are moving, so please arrange for them to be looked after or put away for their and our safety.
Arrange for young children to be looked after
Arrange someone to look after your young children on the move day, this is for health and safety.
Drain petrol from mowers
Petrol lawn mowers and strimmers must be completely empty of petrol and aired of all fumes.
Defrost fridges
The day before your move defrost the fridge and freezer.
Keep important belongings to one side
Ensure that anything needed for the moving day such as, money, keys, mobile phone, ID and important documents are put aside in one place and are pointed out to the removals team when they arrive.
Don’t pack the kettle
All removal men enjoy a nice cup of tea, so please don’t pack the kettle etc until the very end of the day 😉
Ensure sufficient parking
Arrange sufficient parking by parking two or more cars where the Move U truck will have to go, or by placing a few notices out the night before.
Ensure keys to the new home are ready
Make all the necessary arrangements so the keys are made available as soon as possible to your new home.
Ensure someone is at the new house
At the delivery address please ensure that someone is on hand to direct our men to place the furniture in the correct rooms.
